Another Great Tenant Story

OK, so the landlord gods must be smiling down on me or something. I recently rented one of the vacant rental houses to a couple who seemed nice at first (but then they all do).Not worthy

After the couple decided they wanted to sign the lease, we met at the property to do a pre-move in walk through. They asked me if I minded if they painted the interior of the house. I said, “Sure as long as the choice of color does not approach black.” They laughed and explained that it would be an off-white.

They also asked if they could paint the ceiling. Usually we paint the ceiling during rehab but we didn’t because the roof needed to be replaced and if it had leaked, we would not have be en able to tell until the ceiling fell in. So needless to say, the ceiling was in desperate need of painting. I told them that there would be no problem if they wanted to paint the ceiling.

There were a couple of other small things like a small hole in the drywall made by a door knob and some broken electrical outlet covers. Both of these, they said they would repair themselves.

A few days later they called me to find out if was OK for them to repair some bug screens that were original to the house (circa 1974). No problem.

The other day, I had occasion to stop by to pick up a refrigerator (they brought their own) to move it to another house. The garage was immaculate and completely organized. I swear I almost fell over at the sight.

To top it all off they mentioned that they pay their bills on-line (internet users, YAY) and they would schedule an automatic payment to be sent out from the bank to arrive BEFORE the first of the month.

I don’t think I can handle any more good fortune. I need to lie down!

Halleleujah! That’s awesome! It sounds like they’ve been landlords before or something.
