So you may notice that the header image (above) has changed. I changed it basically because I was getting sick of looking at the original picture every time I logged in to write something, not to mention that it’s a picture of a beach in San Francisco (I think) and not Melbourne Beach, FL where I live.
Then I thought, why not take a bunch of pictures of local scenery and write a little code to rotate the images periodically? Maybe inject a little local flavor into the old landlord blog. Any comments about this? If anyone is super resistant to change, let me know as well and I won’t rotate the images as much.

Just
a small site update today. Yesterday I installed a plug-in for this blog which runs WordPress called Snap Preview Anywhere. It’s a really neat system that allows a web site user to drag the mouse over a link to an external web site and see a thumbnail image of the external web site.
I think that the uses for this are going to be HUGE. For instance, it helps to prevent the following condition. I for one have total Hyperlink Attention Deficit Disorder (I think I just coined a term) where you click a link to briefly preview a website and end up clicking on five more links to other web sites thereby forgetting what you were even accessing the internet for.
Go ahead, try it here now. Wait….where was I?

Ok, so this kind of going to be a rant but anyway, here you go. A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I had aquired the domain name LANDLORDSUCCESS.COM (without the hyphen) and I was all exited about it.
Well, how I aquired it was I bought it from someone who had registered it as soon as it was deleted from the internet registry. The person who registered parked it ar Sedo.com who puts up a landing page full of ads and a “for sale” link.
The trauma that ensued after I bought it was incredible. Basically there were about 5-8 phone calls to both Sedo.com & 1and1.com (my registrar). Then finally I received an email from 1and1.com saying that the new domain was ready.
I have NO IDEA why this transfer took 2 weeks when I can register a domain and have a web site up on my web server in 4 hours. Anyway, LANDLORDSUCCESS.COM is now active.

I’m kinda happy about this. I have taken steps to aquire the domain name LANDLORDSUCCESS.COM (without the hyphen). I think it will be easier for readers to remember and get here especially if they forget the hyphen.
At the time I registered LANDLORD-SUCCESS.COM I think that the name without the hyphen was taken although I can’t find it in The Wayback Machine for some reason.
Anyway, that’s about it. I made the mistake myself of typing it in with out the hyphen and the page I landed on mentioned that it was available for sale. So…..YAY me!

So, I’ve decided to spruce up the blog for the new year. One of my resolutions for 2007 is to pay more attention to this site and really try to built it out. You may have noticed some of the changes already but I have added a list below for your reading pleasure.
- A new contact page so you can email me directly from the blog.
- Changed the RSS feed mechanism to go through Feedburner.
- A link to Technorati so you can us to your favorites.
- A new “dropcap” plug-in which debuts with this post.
- Some invisible Search Engine Optimization (SEO) changes.
- A couple of spam prevention plug-ins.
I’ll be adding some other new features in the coming weeks so stay tuned. Also, I plan to post a lot more than I have in the past (one of my new years resolutions for 2007). You will also see a broader scope of topics including general real estate industry subjects, mortgage industry subjects and real estate trend information.
Enjoy!
